Smith the Roll Pack (18L) is a classic in minimal design. We set out to make a unique bag that allows you to go further and travel for longer, whilst also being geared up for normal daily use, with a hidden laptop sleeve (up to 15") and internal pockets. It's light, tough and sustainable – with hidden functions that make life easier on the road.

My first roll pack was worn out so I needed a replacement. It is the best on the market for bikers (long shape, close to the body, still some ventilation for your back).
Maybe repair is possible, but I could not miss it for 2 days or more so I ordered a second one. Got it with some delay compared to delivery time of 10 days (couple of days, not really important)
I can check now if repair is an option.
This product is great, feels good, looks good.
I generally like this backpack and the way its pockets are arranged, BUT...
the fabric breaks really easily at the bottom (see picture). From the people I know with the same backpack, 3 out of 4 had the same issue within 2 years. In my opinion that is not sustainable and not a "products for a lifetime of conscious adventure". While the others went on to other backpacks, I so far managed to extend the lifetime by fixing it several times, but nothing lasts.
Suggestion for improvement:
- either use more durable/thicker material at the bottom (e.g. see fjällräven that provide on of their totepacks with leather at the bottom) or
- change the design. At the moment, the backpack is standing solely on a very thin edge when placed on the floor. At this part, the fabric covers the end of the stable back part and is therefore really easily worn down, leading to the holes. If the fabric was attached to the inner edge of the back part, the fabric would be less strained and potentially last longer.

2nd purchase for my partner as I like mine so much (had it almost 2 years, holding up really well).
The colour is nicer than the images as well I think.
